Getting to and from the Nines is easy with public transport

The Dick Smith NRL Auckland Nines are back this weekend for a second sold-out year. It’s become one of the biggest events on Auckland’s sporting calendar. The Nines are at Eden Park this Saturday and Sunday, 31 January and 1 February.

Public transport is the easiest way to get to and from the park, travel on trains and special event buses is included with your game ticket. We will also be accepting tickets which are shown on your mobile device.

Bus
Special event buses will operate to Eden Park from Northern Busway stations, Takapuna, Manukau, Pakuranga, Botany, Newmarket, Mt Eden and the central city.

Check our website for details of the special services, they kick-off from 10.30 on Saturday morning and 9.30 on Sunday. The return trips leave from the Eden Park Transport Hub between 7.00 and 9.00 on Saturday and Sunday evenings.

Train
Travel on special trains starts from 3 hours before kick-off, until the end of service with your game ticket. Remember to keep your ticket for the ride home.

West
Additional trains will operate on the Western Line. Event trains travel to Kingsland station, which is a quick walk across the road from Eden Park. On the return travelling West, some trains will depart from Kingsland station. Additional trains will start/depart from Morningside station. Please check the timetable carefully. A mobility shuttle will be operating from Sandringham Road just down from Walters Road, between 6:30pm – 9:30pm for those unable to walk to Morningside Station.

City
Additional trains will depart Britomart stopping only at Grafton on the way to the park. On the return, Kingsland is the station for passengers heading back towards the city (transfer at Britomart for trains going South or East). Trains depart Kingsland stopping only at Grafton.

South/East
Additional trains will operate on the Southern and Eastern Lines to Britomart where you can transfer onto Western Line services to Kingsland station.

Ferry
The Downtown Ferry Terminal is next to the Britomart Transport Centre; ferry passengers can easily change to a bus or train to get to Eden Park.

Road closures

Cycling and Walking
There is some bike parking at Eden Park and the ground is an easy walk from many of Auckland’s inner suburbs, it’s a comfortable 50 minute walk from Auckland’s city centre.

Once the games are over for the day, if you plan to continue the party in town, check for an early Sunday morning bus home.

Passengers are reminded that alcohol and drugs are not permitted for consumption on any of our services. For the safety of our customers, any persons who are drunk or worse for wear won’t be allowed to travel.
