The Winery Tour 2015 artists support NZ Music
Foundation
with rare signed CD collection
The bellwether of the kiwi music year, The Winery Tour 2015, is approaching fast and the official charity of the tour, The New Zealand Music Foundation, has just announced a rare CD draw alongside the tour to raise funds and awareness of the charity's work.
The charity is already offering the public the chance through their website to win one of two double passes for any concert on the tour to those that enter before the 22nd of January. People that also become members of The Foundation will go into asecond, members-only draw for one of two album packs each containing Dave Dobbyn's best of CD Beside You, Don McGlashan's Warm Hand, Anika Moa's hit children's album Songs for Bubbas, and Supergroove's best of compilation Postage, each signed by the artists themselves.
Nick Atkinson from
Supergroove says that the prize is extraordinary,
and that the band is happy to help the cause. "You know
it's not often we have all the guys together and we're
really happy to help The New Zealand Music Foundation in
this way. They make projects possible all over the country
that harness the magic of music to help children and adults
in need, and they perform vital work with members of the
kiwi music community. We hope that people join The
Foundation and that these signed CDs help raise awareness
and funds for the charity."
New Zealand Music
Foundation General Manager, Peter Dickens, says: “We
see the magic that music can perform every day in the youth,
healthcare, community and social development projects we
support. We receive no government funding, so partnerships
like this are vital to our work. We’re enormously excited,
grateful and proud to have been adopted as the official
charity of The Winery Tour 2015 and to have this very
special support from the artists themselves is a huge boost
to us.”
The charity hopes to raise both its profile
and vital funds through the competition ahead of its next
support round, where the money raised will be used to enable
even more music-based projects that change the lives of
children who are at-risk, disabled or in poverty. Other
projects the charity helps work with adults suffering from
dementia or other neurological conditions, or who are
receiving palliative care. You can see more examples of the projects
The Foundation supports on their website.
The Winery Tour 2015 is proudly New
Zealand and celebrates our music, our wine and our scenery.
Now in its 9th year, the 2015 Tour will play 11 shows in
nine wineries around New Zealand between late January and
the start of March, with all shows played on a Friday or
Saturday or the day immediately prior to a public holiday.
With Dave Dobbyn & Don McGlashan: Together in Concert,
Supergroove and Anika Moa, it's one of the best line-ups, in
the best winery venues, on the best days for enjoying a
night out for fans.
The public has until 5pm, Thursday 22 January to enter here, and will be given the opportunity to become a Member of The Foundation to be in to win the signed CDs.
