GIVING AUCKLAND A TASTE OF THE FRINGE!

Auckland Live in association with Auckland Fringe turns up the heat in Aotea Squarewith snippets and performances from the hottest acts of this year’s festival. Starting from5pm each night, from Wednesday 11th February to Saturday 14th February, this livelySoapbox line-up will showcase the variety of talent that makes up Auckland Fringe2015.

Each night a new MC will corral artists as they juggle for position and your hearts through fast-paced 10 minute performances.

To top it all off, there will be a bonus line-up of actors, comedians, poets, musicians and DJs.

Wellington’s theatrical provocateurs and "Best in Fringe" winners (NZ Fringe 2013) Binge Culture Collective will get you fringe prepared with Oh! What a Lovely Fringe. There will be improvised comedy with Snort: Outside – a gathering of some of New Zealand’s funniest young comedians including Rose Matafeo, Nic Sampson and Guy Montgomery and even more laughs with Bright Futures starring New Zealand’s tallest male and female comedy duo, Hayley Sproull and Chris Parker.

And a Soapbox wouldn’t be complete without the voices of the street - so the alumni poets of Rising Voices will bring their powerful words to the stage.

With DJs Bobby Brazuka, Pauly Hu and Randomplay providing a soundtrack of laid-back summer beats and Sal Valentine and the Babyshakes bringing slick sounds and infectious rhythm and blues, the Square Soapbox is the perfect place to get a taste of the Fringe in the sun.
