Wellington Cup serving up Logan Brown
24 December 2014
In a new exclusive offering, Platinum Homes Wellington Cup Day will have Wellington’s iconic restaurant Logan Brown serving on-course on January 24.
“Logan Brown in the Balmerino Room” tops off a range of hospitality package options starting from $50 per person.
Wellington Racing Club CEO Alasdair Robertson says having Logan Brown part of Cup Day is just one of the things the Club is trying to do to ensure the wider carnival is recognised as an iconic Wellington event.
“The Platinum Homes Wellington Cup Carnival is a unique Wellington Event and we want it to be recognised as such. That’s why we are focusing on local suppliers and delivering a uniquely Wellington experience.
“This year we’ve also revamped Gazley VW Fashion in the Field, there’s no entry fee, the new format allows for more entrants, and there’s a new Wellington Finalist category for contestants that embody everything ‘Wellington Cup Day,” says Alasdair Robertson.
Gazley VW Fashion in the field will be hosted by The Edge’s Mike Puru.
Roberston says due to growth in demand for hospitality packages the club has also created a number of other options that are down where the action is, but still offer private spaces.
“Both the Open Air Terraced Lounges and the Cointreau Fizz Garden have come about on the back of a demand for something a little more exclusive and stylish that still let’s racegoers get close enough to experience the thunder of the hooves and vibe of the wider event.”
Steve Logan of Logan Brown says his team are excited to be heading to the races and happy to be part of a special week in Wellington’s event calendar.
“The Logan Brown chefs and myself will be on-course serving three courses. It should be everything you’ve come to expect from Logan Brown with the added excitement of fascinators and thoroughbred racing!”
