Jay-Jay, Mike And Dom’s Christmas Carols for Charity
After a four year hiatus, The Edge’s Jay-Jay, Mike and Dom have again released three original Christmas songs to raise money for their chosen charities.
With mixed success in 2010, the team have turned the ‘professional dial’ up, collaborating with some of New Zealand’s top musicians, Benny Tipene, Jamie McDell and Jupiter Project. All songs are available now for download via iTunes with all proceeds being donated to the SPCA, Surf Life Saving NZ and Youthline.
All three songs debuted in the Top 20 of the New Zealand iTunes charts and to keep the competiveness high Jay-Jay, Mike and Dom will each release a music video that will premiere on The Edge TV on Tuesday, December 16 at 7:30am (Freeview Channel 11, Sky Channel 114 or live streaming at www.theedge.co.nz/EdgeTV/EdgeTVWatchLive.aspx).
Jay-Jay Harvey says, “we are all very competitive, particularly Dom and I. He hates to lose, and it's killing him that my song is so much better than his! I've won this before, and I intend to win it again.”
The Christmas song with the most sales will not only give the money raised to their chosen charity but The Edge will match the proceeds dollar for dollar.
Jay-Jay Harvey has teamed up with Jupiter Project with her song, ‘Xmas Cake’, raising money for SPCA.
Mike Puru and Jamie McDell are raising money for Surf Life Saving NZ with their song, 'Financially Screwed'.
Dom Harvey arranged two of Palmerston North’s finest, Benny Tipene and PNC to raise money for Youthline with 'Pull Out Ya Voucher’.
