Kapiti Food Fair rocked & rolled the Mazengarb Reserve
Proudly Sponsored by ANZ Paraparaumu
The organisers of the Kapiti Food Fair are rapped after an awesome day and 5,515 visitors on throughout the day on Saturday 6 December. “We had a huge variety of ready to eat vendors who cooked up a delicious storm, and a wonderful selection of New Zealand produced food & beverage to sample and buy” says Helene Judge, Fair Spokesperson.
“We want to thank everyone that came to the Fair – visitors, vendors, sponsors, volunteers, suppliers and Council staff – without everyone doing their bit we would not have achieved what we did. There was a fantastic vibe and everyone seemed very happy while eating, talking and shopping,” said Helene.
Helene went on to say, “the weather also played its part so that really enhanced the relaxed environment. So many people commented on how much they liked the Mazengarb Reserve as the new home of the Fair and we agree, there is plenty of room to expand the width and depth of the site as the Fair grows over time,” says Helene.
Jeanine van Kradenburg was smiling all day as “Karena & Kasey did a marvelous job entertaining everyone in the celebrity kitchen with our debut MC, Neil Thomson of BCE Catering Equipment – they were so easy to work with and genuinely enjoyed themselves while also being happy to be photographed with many visitors who wanted to get up close and personally chat with them,” said Jeanine.
Jeanine went on to say, “Karena & Kasey’s cookbook is due to be launched around Mother’s Day in 2015 so we are delighted to say that they have agreed to come back to Kapiti so we can help them with their launch with a book signing event. Keep a look-out on our Facebook page and in Kapiti News for details on that one.”
Kapiti’s Mayor and Principal Sponsor ANZ hosted Karena & Kasey on a Fair walkabout after their show – they were swamped with visitors wanting their photo and vendors wanting them to sample their products which they really enjoyed. “We know they had a memorable time while in Kapiti and we are looking forward to having them back soon,” said Helene.
The entertainment arena was rocked by Brasso, the Retro Divas, Palomino playing gypsy swing and GravelTrax, a country & rock band. The Gold Coast Rock n Roll Club were also fantastic showing off some good moves on grass! The Kapiti Circus also featured with Zac’s street show of daring acts of skill and bravery.
