Coliseum Sports Media Swings All the Top-Quality Tour Golf for Kiwi Golf Fans
Today (05/12/14) Coliseum Sports Media (CSM) can reveal that it has exclusively secured a prestigious suite of global, professional golfing Tours for Kiwi sports fans; delivering an unprecedented breadth-and-depth of live and on-demand content for Kiwi golf fans, including some which has never been broadcast before in New Zealand.
In addition to PGATOURLIVE which carries all PGA TOUR events including THE PLAYERS Championship and the Presidents Cup, CSM has also secured exclusive rights to the LPGA Tour featuring Lydia Ko; European Tour; Ryder Cup; USPGA Championship; Asian Tour and the EurAsia Cup all of which will be delivered through a partner platform WORLDGOLFPASS.
Golf fans will be able to access both PGATOURLIVE and WORLDGOLFPASS for one subscription; giving them access to all these tournaments, as well as review and highlight shows, live and on-demand. All content can be streamed to Smart TVs, Apple TVs, iOS and Android phones and tablets as well as through PCs and MACs; or by viewers connecting laptops to their TV using an HDMI cable.
As a result, Kiwi golf fans can now have access to more than 2,000 live hours of golf as well as see all the stars of world golf, including home-grown hero Lydia Ko, Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Phil Mickelson and more, with one single subscription of $19.90 a month or $199 for a season pass.
This breadth and depth of professional, quality golfing content, through one single subscription at a low price is a major breakthrough for the sport and the fans here in New Zealand. Tim Martin, CEO at Coliseum Sports Media explains:
“We believe every Kiwi deserves the chance to see our very own Lydia Ko play. An exciting and inspiring young player such as Lydia Ko, combined with an increased accessibility of viewership, has the power to grow the sport amongst new and emerging audiences. This is an exciting time for golf in New Zealand. This is an exciting time for Kiwi golf fans. And this is what CSM is all about – using the leveller of technology to deliver unlimited access for all who want it. A more direct and deeper relationship between the fan and the sport only means all sports have a greater chance to grow and thrive.”
To make access even easier for Kiwi golf fans, CSM is partnering with Noel Leeming nationwide (from January 2015) to provide set-up and support for those wanting to switchover to the new service.
Tim Martin continues: “The technology and login process around PGATOURLIVE and WORLDGOLFPASS is easy. Just think of it as one login to two channels. But we also understand that some golf fans may find the switch to the internet daunting. And many don’t have the right equipment yet.
“Our partnership with Noel Leeming will help golf fans around New Zealand get set up with the new service, hassle-free. They simply walk into their local Noel Leeming store and get expert advice on the solution that’s right for them, education and support on the new platform, even an in-home installation of the new technology. This offers a seamless transition, and will give golf fans increased accessibility and choice well into the future, not just for sport, but all online entertainment including Lightbox and Netflix.“
"Video on Demand through the internet is fast becoming the new normal for consumers of subscription TV and movies.” says Chris Maclean, GM of Services for Noel Leeming. “With a nationwide technology education and support team Noel Leeming is perfectly placed to assist with choosing the best product to watch the sport, install the TV, set up the service, and teach the consumers how to use it in the comfort of their own homes.”
New Zealand Golf is also on board and is delighted about the greater accessibility Kiwi golfing fans will have to the sport with the PGATOURLIVE and WORLDGOLFPASS package on offer. Dean Murphy CEO at New Zealand Golf says: “We are excited that New Zealand Golf fans will have access to more golf from the international tours. Seeing the world’s best players compete on the world stage is a great way to inspire New Zealanders to participate in the sport and we are pleased to see international golf coverage accessible to New Zealand golf fans expanded. Coliseum Sports Media is leading the digital sports movement here in New Zealand and we are delighted to be able to partner with them for the benefit of our affiliated members and clubs.”
