Spandau Ballet to Guest Host on the Breeze
This Sunday, November 16, one of the 80's biggest bands, Spandau Ballet guest host a show on The Breeze network.
Flamboyant lead singer Tony Hadley and bass player Martin Kemp (star of EastEnders) will host a two-hour special show.
Tony and Martin talk about their new movie Soulboys of the Western World, plus their new album, The Very Best of Spandau Ballet and their forthcoming New Zealand concert in May 2015.
They also chat about the early days, the stories behind some of their biggest hits, give their thoughts on music today, and reminisce on previous tours - including a great story about being on stage with the band Queen.
Spandau Ballet became one of the most commercially successful bands of the 1980's and during their career they notched up 23 hit singles, achieving album sales of over 25 million worldwide with mega hits 'True', 'Gold' and 'Through the Barricades'. 'Gold' was also the soundtrack to the London 2012 Olympics.
Spandau Ballet reformed for a tour in 2009/10. It was during this time that work began on the film Soulboys of the Western World. The movie takes a fascinating look at the late 70's and 80's and tells the story of five friends who just happened to be in a globally successful band.
The Breeze is also proud to present Spandau Ballet with special guest Nik Kershaw on May 10, 2015 at Auckland's Vector Arena, with tickets available from www.ticketmaster.co.nz<http://www.ticketmaster.co.nz>
Catch Tony Hadley and Martin Kemp from Spandau Ballet on The Breeze this Sunday, November 16 from 10am to 12pm. To listen visit www.thebreeze.co.nz<http://www.thebreeze.co.nz>
