$1k competition in quest to find NZ's greatest ginger beard

Do YOU have New Zealand’s greatest ginger beard? $1,000 competition in quest to find New Zealand’s greatest ginger beard.

New Zealand craft brewer, Ranga, has launched an unusual national search for New Zealand’s greatest ginger beard.
One red-bearded male (or female – yes there has been a female entry) will be awarded the title and will become the title holder of The Great New Zealand Gingerbeer(d) Quest.
The winner will take out the fame and a fortune to the total of $1,000 cash.

Hi I am mark Wilson also known as Doc. In the beard world my beard is called #BIGRED and it will be two years old in February. I am #GraveBeforeShave and I’m also the other half of The Bearded Establishment a beard page on Facebook. If I win the $1000 it will go towards getting me to the beard world championships next year to represent new Zealand.

David Kennedy says: “Save a horse, ride a beard”

Steven Beard says he has more than just a tinge of ginge in the pursuit of beardliness.

Corrie Roberts says a little bit of laziness, a little bit of defiance went into making his beard.

Momo Smith: “ Can i join in?”

To celebrate all things ginger, the company is breaking down the walls of gingerism and is inviting people to enter their great fiery ginger beard for a public vote. The total prize pool includes $1,000 cash and a beard grooming kit to keep the title holder in top form.

The company produces a variety of kiwi summer favourites, from its feisty alcoholic gingerbeer to it’s world first naturally brewed alcoholic lemon, lime and bitters.

The competition, which is running for a total of 6 weeks, asks bearded gingers and redheads across the country to enter by submitting a photograph of themselves.

All submissions will be published in a photo gallery on the company’s Facebook page. The company’s spokesperson Bevan Wait says the competition has grabbed a huge amount of attention. “We knew this competition would go well but we never knew there were so many proud ginger beard owners out there. People are nominating their ginger bearded friends to enter too, its great!”.

The greatest gingerbeer(d) with the most public votes or ‘Likes’ will take out the respective titles.
Competition entries opened on November 4th and are set to close on December 14.
