Promoting Cultural And Art Exchanges Between NZ And China


The NZAFA (New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts) will open doors to the general public on 1 Queens Wharf to the China – NZ Arts Exhibition from 10 November – 21 November 2014.

The exhibition will not only provide a valuable exchange opportunity for New Zealand and Chinese Artists, but will also help strengthen multiculturism in New Zealand.

The exhibition takes painting art as the main contents, displaying 49 painting works created by 19 Chinese and famous NZ artists. The art enhances exchanges and dialogues between different regions of Yellow River, Yangtze River and the South Pacific and different civilizations between the East and West.

Works on display from renowned Chinese Artists include Chen Hui, Chen Zhengming, Cheng Dali, Deng Weidong, Gao Runxi, He Jiaying, Liu Dawei, Liu Jingui and Man Weiqi. These works are full of high artist value and flourishing era spirit.

Art from the New Zealand catalogue include some of the very best of Billy Apple, Colin McCahon, Dick Frizzell, Gail Haffern, Gerry Copas, Mark Ussher, Nigel Brown, Ralph Hotere, Roger Mortimer, and Craig S primrose QSM. Styles are diversified and characteristic, providing a valuable opportunity for the audience to learn NZ’s contemporary arts.

This exhibition closes 21 November 2014.
