Record breaking Melbourne Cup for TAB
The TAB has
recorded a record breaking Melbourne Cup driven by strong
interest in the Cup’s Kiwi contenders.
Executive General Manager - TAB Glenn Patrick says Kiwi’s haven’t just bet big some of them have won big too.
“Melbourne Cup winner Protectionist was the TAB’s third most backed runner. One savvy punter put $1,000 on Protectionist in October at $51, resulting in a $51,000 pay day!” says Patrick.
TAB Bookie and spokesperson Mark Stafford says TAB customers showed overwhelming support for third placed Kiwi contender Who Shot Thebarman.
“Our Bookies will be paying out over six figures on the Who Shot Thebarman place result. He certainly delivered a lot of excitement for his place backers who got $3.60 for every dollar bet,” says Stafford.
