The Block Nz Homes to Go under the Hammer
The Block Nz Homes to Go under the Hammer
Kiwi audiences have been watching closely over the past twelve weeks and now The Block NZ houses are on the market and ready to go under the auctioneer’s hammer, deciding who will win the top-rating series.
The four properties located in Newell Street, Pt Chevalier, Auckland are currently being readied for sale by auction through leading residential real estate agency Bayleys.
The auction will take place on Friday, November 14th and will be broadcast LIVE on TV3 as part of the series grand two-hour finale.
Series contestants Jo and Damo, Maree and James, Quinn and Ben and Alex and Corban have downed tools for the final time, ready to let their houses go up for sale.
Fans of The Block NZ and potential buyers of the homes are to be kept on tenterhooks as to the value of the four renovated properties, with reserve prices for the live auction set just hours before the show goes to air.
Under the rules of the format, each team keeps the profit from the sale of their property on auction night. The team whose property sells for the most over reserve will win an extra cash prize of $80,000 and be named winners of The Block NZ 2014.
Sue Woodfield, TV3’s Head of Commissioning and External Production comments: “The four teams have done a fantastic job this year, their sheer hard work and creativity has been great to watch.
“They’ve really poured their hearts and souls into these houses and have created some of the best interiors we’ve seen yet. These properties are top-class family homes and I hope they attract some fierce bidding on auction night. I wish them all the very best of luck.”
In 2013, Alice and Caleb Pearson took home a life-changing $261,000 after a dramatic auction saw their house sell for $1,126,000 in a dramatic auction broadcast LIVE on TV3.
The 2014 season of The Block NZ is the most popular so far with more than 2.85 million Kiwis tuning in to the hit series and record numbers watching via TV3’s ondemand service 3NOW.
The Block NZ is produced by Eyeworks Television for TV3. Broadcast sponsor is Bunnings Warehouse, with programme partners Kiwibank, Honda and Wild Bean Cafe.
