Streets up and down the country will be turning orange for the Blind Foundation’s annual Blind Week appeal this week.
Collectors in bright orange vests will be hitting the streets to rattle buckets for localised collections on Friday 31 October and Saturday 01 November.
Blind Foundation Chief Executive Sandra Budd says the charity simply couldn’t offer the vital services it provides without the generosity of every day New Zealanders.
Ms Budd says every day an average of three New Zealanders register with the Blind Foundation for support with sight loss.
“Funds raised during the appeal will help us provide practical support to in living independently, help with technology, and advice on staying in or looking for work,” she says.
“Any support Kiwis can give, no matter how small, will make a huge difference to people who are blind or have low vision in your community,” she says
Those wanting to donate to Blind Week can give during the street appeal, by phoning 0800 DONATE or online at www.blindweek.org.nz
