Balkan Beat Box
Israel/US
Straight out of Brooklyn via Tel
Aviv, Balkan Beat Box flirts with Mediterranean-inflected,
globalised electronica. Fronted by Israeli-born Ori Kaplan,
Tamir Muskat and Tomer Yosef, the band’s explosive live

saxophone and tough lyrics, adding spice and exotic
harmonies to hard, eastern-inspired rhythms.

International.
Malawi Mouse Boys
Malawi
Recalling the power and purity of Sam
Cooke’s 1950s gospel recordings, Malawi Mouse Boys have

tin and percussion tapped on drink cans with spoons –
primal, yet universal.
