Stamp Your Mark On The Hobbit Trilogy
Join the Company of Dwarves And Stamp Your Mark On The Hobbit Trilogy
The countdown to the premiere of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, the third and final film in The Hobbit Trilogy, has begun and New Zealand Post is giving fans and the public the opportunity to feature as one or more of the 13 Dwarves from The Hobbit Motion Picture Trilogy in a special-edition stamp range.
In an agreement with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, Warner Bros. Pictures, and the filmmakers, New Zealand Post has exclusive rights to produce official stamps that celebrate Sir Peter Jackson's trilogy of films based on The Hobbit, productions of New Line Cinema and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios (MGM).
This special-edition stamp range, issued publicly today, is available in sheets of 20, and can be used for postage in and from New Zealand or saved as a keepsake.
New Zealand Post’s Head of Stamps and Coins Simon Allison said the special personalised stamps are a unique way to celebrateThe Hobbit Trilogy.
“The stamps are a fun way for people to get into mood for the epic conclusion to The Hobbit Trilogy and become one with the mighty race of Dwarves.
“It’s not everyday you get the chance to do that.
“People can choose from the group of Dwarves that make up the Company of Thorin Oakenshield: Thorin, Fili, Kili, Balin, Dwalin, Oin, Gloin, Ori, Dori, Nori, Bifur, Bofur and Bombur.”

Simon Allison said New Zealand Post will also issue an official range of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies-inspired stamps and legal tender coins, which will go on sale from 12 November 2014, and the two products will contain a surprise twist that involves unique processes to achieve a special effect that has not been done before in New Zealand.
