RE-ISSUE CLUB - Episode 1: 90's Nun
Flying Nun Records are pleased to
announce pre-orders for an extended double LP edition of the
Headless Chickens' -
Body Blow.
The release is also part of our new
Re-Issue Club (or Ric as we sometimes call
it).
The first episode of the club features FOUR
crowd funded Flying Nun vinyl re-issue projects. We will be announcing one record each
day this week, until Friday October 10, when they all go on
sale. As well as pre-ordering them individually, they are
also be available as a special discounted bundle.
Unlike
most of the recent Flying Nun reissues - all four of these
albums were originally released during the 1990s, and one
has never been pressed to vinyl before.
The albums will
all be double LPs with plenty of B-sides, out-takes and
previously unreleased bonus material…once we have 100
pre-orders of each album, Flying Nun will put them into
production.
Body Blow was
the second studio album by theHeadless Chickens
and released in 1991.
Bigger, brighter and more
produced than previous album, Stunt
Clown, it also featured numerous charting
singles - 'Cruise Control' (No.6),
‘Gaskrankinstation’ (No. 28) and ‘Donde Este
La Pollo’ (no.4), followed by Juice (no.7) and
Mr Moon (no.22), the latter two featuring on the 1993
version of the album - making it one of the most successful
Flying Nun released albums. It also featured the first (and
only) Flying Nun number one single
George - which, while technically
was on the 1997 album Greedy, the
band have decided to include on the Body
Blow re-issue because it fits better with this
album.
Originally formed in the mid 1980s, the band was
Chris Matthews, Fiona McDonald, Michael Lawry, Grant
Fell, Ant Nevison and Bevan
Sweeney.
The full track list and artwork to be
announced shortly.
