Week
Explore Auckland CBD by tracking digital experiences during Art Week Late Night. There will be works on screens, mobile devices, walls and floors at the Aotea Centre and the AUT Sir Paul Reeves building.
Start at the Aotea Centre where the exhibition Acute Self by Interrupt Collective is showcased on the Digital Art Live Interactive Space on Level 2. Then continue around the venue to discover nine other digital installations created by AUT students from Colab’s Bachelor and Master of Creative Technologies.
Then walk to Wakefield Street and enter the impressive atrium of Sir Paul Reeves Building. On level 3 and 4, all the screens will be displaying a stunning array of videos and animations created by AUT students and curated by AUTV.
You want more? Jump next door to St Paul Street Gallery for an evening of New Zealand music that charts the turbulent times of the WMC's existence or continue to explore galleries and museums all around Auckland during Art Week Late Night.
Digital Art Live
Exploring the intersection of art and technology, Digital Art Live is collaboration between Colab/AUT University and Auckland Live and invites audiences to interact with an interactive screenand become part of a new generation of Art.
Digital Art Live is the only permanent interactive exhibition space of its kind in New Zealand. The screen is situated on Level 2 of the Aotea Centre - the perfect location to invite people to engage with the performance possibilities of digital art and help bring art to life. Audience participation is necessary to complete the art work. We invite audiences to come down and play.
