Well Foundation ambassador and top New Zealand basketball player, Tom Abercrombie will join renowned athlete, Allison Roe as a special guest walker in the inaugural Long Bay Spring Step Out next month.
The Tall Blacks player will take part in the fun family walking event on 12 October and will be around to meet fans at the completion of the walk.

Organisers of the event, Browns Bay Rotary are excited to have Tom sign up to take part as another special guest walker.
“We’re thrilled Tom is joining us,” says club president, Tony Hooks. “With him and Allison on board, we’re expecting a great turnout to support this first-time event and a great local cause.”
The Long Bay Spring Step Out will begin at Long Bay College, taking participants on an outstanding scenic walking route through the Long Bay Regional Park. Four different distances will be marked on the course giving participants the opportunity to walk 6km, 8.5km, 11km or the full distance up to Piripiri Point and back of 13km.
Walkers will not only enjoy the stunning Regional Park, nature trails and various picturesque bays, they will also be afforded impressive views as they stroll past Auckland’s latest multi-million dollar housing development at Long Bay.
“This is a stand-out walking route that we feel has been kept a pretty good secret,” says Hooks. “The Spring Step Out is a chance to gather your friends and family while taking advantage of one of Auckland’s most beautiful walking tracks.”
Browns Bay Rotary are pleased to announce the Long Bay College Concert Band will be playing from 11am at the school to keep people entertained as they return from the walk and enjoy a cold drink and sausage sizzle.
