The Dead Daisies announce NZ Tour Dates with Jimmy Barnes
Contemporary classic rockers The Dead Daisies are heading to New Zealand in November performing four concerts with the legendary Jimmy Barnes.
The group will be playing dates in Auckland, Hamilton, Christchurch and Dunedin from 25-29 November as special guests on Jimmy Barnes 30:30 Hindsight tour.
A rock super-group comprised of musicians from the world's biggest rock bands, The Dead Daisies are fronted by legendary Kiwi singer Jon Stevens, with Richard Fortus of Guns N' Roses on guitar, Marco Mendoza of Thin Lizzy and Whitesnake on bass, Dizzy Reedof Guns N' Roses on keyboard/vocals, Brian Tichy of Whitesnake, Billy Idol and Ozzy Osbourne on drums and David Lowy of Doc Neeson's Angels on rhythm guitar.
"I'm really looking forward to coming home and seeing my whanau and playing some rock and roll with The Dead Daisies," Jon Stevens said.
The New Zealand tour rounds off an extraordinary year for the band, coming hard on the heels of several months touring across the USA and performing to massive crowds in excess of half a million people over the summer, with KISS and Def Leppard in August, and Bad Company and Lynyrd Skynyrd during July.
"I’m super excited to be coming back to New Zealand, said Richard Fortus. “Playing shows with Jimmy Barnes is always fun and it’s always really inspirational. I enjoy touring with those guys...it’s a real family vibe. Can’t wait to be back in New Zealand and playing some new songs for our fans!"
The tour also marks the release of a second single Angel in Your Eyes from their latest EP, ‘Face I Love’. Angel In Your Eyes is an epic, guitar-fuelled song, accompanied by Stevens’ powerful vocals, with drums and keys also hitting the mark. 'Face I Love' is available to purchase on iTunes.
"When the drums kick in you can’t help but start nodding your head to the beat, just before the heavy hi hat rolls in, making the song feel much louder as the vocals ride over the top. The vocals are superb on this EP and Jon Stevens has a naturally soulful voice with a broad range. Again the keyboards are instrumental in this song providing that subtle melody which is becoming a trade mark of this band." –
