The Black Seeds set to entertain festival goers on Valentine’s day 2015
Save the date for the 14th of February 2015! Set amongst the vines in Marlborough’s oldest vineyard, Brancott Vineyard,
the Marlborough Wine & Food Festival will celebrate its 31st birthday in 2015.
To thank all the loyal Marlburians who are great supporters of the event, festival organisers are offering a ‘Locals
Only’ offer from Monday the 22nd of September through to Sunday the 28th of September. For one week only, locals can
purchase their 2015 tickets at the special price of two tickets for $90 including booking fee from either the Blenheim
i-SITE or the Ticketek box office, located in the Floor Pride Civic Theatre. This offer makes the most of the festival
corresponding with Valentine’s Day and organisers encourage everyone to find a mate and bring a date to the festival.
The release of ‘Locals Only’ tickets coincides with the first entertainment announcement for the 2015 festival.
The Black Seeds are long established as one of New Zealand's finest bands and have carved out a huge reputation on the
back of multi-platinum selling albums and a masterful live show that has been filling concert venues across the globe
for over a decade. Described recently by the German Rolling Stone as ‘The best reggae band in the world right now’, The Black Seeds live show oozes good vibes wherever they go making the band a regular fixture at the world’s leading
music festivals. Organisers are sure that festival goers will love the fun summer vibe The Black Seeds will bring to
next year’s festival.
Following on from the successfully launched new format, the Marlborough Wine & Food Festival is set to dazzle the taste buds of both wine and food aficionados with the continued growth of the
Culinary Pavilion area. The yet to be announced culinary talent will cook up a storm in the vineyard marquee that is
home to the beautiful Electrolux Kitchen. In addition, the region’s top winemakers will be present at two seated wine
seminars in another marquee where they will guide wine lovers through a selection of stunning Marlborough wines.
Wine Marlborough General Manager, Marcus Pickens says that festival goers always comment on just how wonderful the
festival is.
“Each year we get so many people giving us feedback that being at a festival amongst the vines is a special treat.
Adding to that the festival provides a unique opportunity for festival goers to meet and talk to over 50 of the region’s
top wine producers, enjoy an all-day music lineup and see some of the country’s hottest chefs in action”.
It is this winning combination that has made the Marlborough Wine & Food Festival New Zealand’s longest running and best known wine festival.
Key details
The Marlborough Wine & Food Festival was first held in February 1985 when there fewer than 10 wineries in Marlborough. Today the region has
153 wineries, and the Festival accommodates over 50 local wineries and over 25 food sites.
The event has been held continuously at Brancott Vineyard since 1987.
The Festival is always on the second Saturday in February, making it the 14th February 2015.
Children & persons under 18 years of age are not permitted on site at the event.
The event will go ahead rain or shine and it has an amazing knack of not being rain affected.
Ticketek and their agencies (www.ticketek.co.nz) sell Marlborough Wine & Food Festival tickets with the Blenheim and Picton i-SITE being regional resellers also. Only the Floorpride Civic
Theatre and Blenheim i-SITE will sell ‘Locals Only’ tickets from Monday the 22nd of September through to Sunday the 28th
of September. This will be followed by widely released ‘Early Bird’ Tickets before ‘General Admission’ tickets go on
sale on October 13th.
