Feature Film Adaptation of Faith-Based Novel “Scripted In Heaven” is Planned For Release in 2016
Award-winning author, Lourdes Duque Baron, announced in August 2014 she will join forces with Indie producer, Jill Dale, Bella Luce Productions to produce the adaptation of her book, Scripted In Heaven. Multi-platinum and Billboard Award winning music producer, Andrew Lane, is on board as music producer.
First published in 2012, Scripted In Heaven tells the true story of Dr. Robinson V. Baron and his physical and metaphysical healing. As a stubborn surgeon, he ignores a cryptic warning from a mystical woman about imminent complications with his health – a message he later realized was divine intervention. The struggles that follow take him on a journey of spiritual renewal, which leads him to rediscover his true faith and his true love. It is a story of a surgeon who believes he is invincible. When the misguided night of his soul succumbs to the relentless, illicit carnal seductions and lures him to the cesspool of mortal sins, he 'meets' Padre Pio da Pietrelcina, who's been dead for over 29 years, and encounters a saving grace that delivers him from the portals of perdition.
Dr. Baron seeks for the divine guidance of Padre Pio da Pietrelcina (the patron saint of healing) while trials and tribulations test him and his family. His devotion grows, even causing him to embark on a punishing pilgrimage to San Giovanni Rotondo in Italy, despite his fragile health. His mystical metamorphosis is a story of courage, sacrifice, and triumph. It inspires the reader to reflect on his own weakness and makes him long for purpose and truth in his mortal life.
A fan recently posted the following review on Goodreads after reading "Scripted In Heaven," "The feelings in it are as real as can be, and you are tortured right along with Baron and his family, and subsequently your curiosity is aroused and you are uplifted by the strange remainder of his journey. The spiritual pilgrimage they undergo is both miraculous and instructive.”
Sofia Landon of Splash Magazines Worldwide called the book "a truly inspirational story about faith, love and hope in the face of adversity.”
“The fact that the film will show more of the emotion than the book will make it easier for the audience to grasp the message; the impact will be far greater,” said Baron in a statement about adapting the book into a film.
Unlike some recent faith-based films, Scripted In Heaven is a story that can be appreciated by people of all faiths as well as Atheists. Although it is a Catholic story based around the divine intervention of Padre Pio, the story of hope and the power of family and friends is universal.
Production of the film is planned for the third quarter of 2015 ahead of a projected 2016 release.
