The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride 2014
The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride or DGR, is a charity event for vintage motorcycle owners with the aim of raising money for prostate cancer research.
Participants are required to dress “dapper,” meaning suits, tuxedos, bow ties etc, to match the vintage and old school style bikes .
In 2013 the ride rasied over $277,000 for prostate cancer, the goal this year is to reach $1 Million .
The ride will take place simultaneously all over the world in over 220 cities, including Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington.
Organisers are expecting over 20,000 participants worldwide who will be sponsored individually to complete the ride, which will vary in length from city to city.
