An EP has been recently released by Watershedd Music, a Coromandel/Dunedin neo-folk acoustic duo. It was recorded at
Coromandel Sonic Laboratory.
One of the songs, "Let Freedom Abide" was written in response to a speech made by Dame Anne Salmond at a public meeting
in 2013 when the GCSB bill was being debated. Dame Anne was declared "New Zealander of the Year" in 2013 for her work on
cultural history and is a Distinguished Professor of Maori Studies and Anthropology at the University of Auckland.
The theme of her speech was that the issues around mass surveillance and civil liberties are fundamental to our
democracy, that our ANZAC forbears fought and died for.
