Category Judge gives Young NZers a Fair Go

MEDIA RELEASE

5 September 2014

Category Judge gives Young NZers a Fair Go

Well known for her time hosting 'Fair Go' and as the presenter of the extremely popular Great Kiwi Video Show, Liane Clarke contributes some of her time judging the Kiwibank New Zealand of the Year awards. As Head Category Judge for The University of Auckland Young New Zealander of the Year award, Liane presents the Top 10 Semi-Finalists to the Executive Panel. "It might sound like a cliche but our tamariki are the future of this country and that's one of the reasons I think this category is the most exciting of all. It's a humbling experience to read through their CVs, it's an honour to meet the finalists face-to-face and meeting the ultimate winners of the category is tantamount to shaking hands with the future. We look for young people who are making a difference now and have potential to make a significant contribution to the New Zealand journey in the years to come." Today Liane is GM - Marketing for Intueri Education Group and carries more than 15 years’ experience in marketing management across a range of sectors. She is also a National Ambassador for Variety The Childrens' Charity, chaired the inaugural Young Variety committee and is a member of St Johns Rotary.

Anyone can nominate an individual or community organisation in the awards programme.

In addition to the Kiwibank New Zealander of the Year, awards will also be presented to New Zealanders who have performed with distinction in five additional award categories. These include the University of Auckland Young New Zealander of the Year, Metlifecare Senior New Zealander of the Year, Mitre 10 Community of the Year, Sanitarium Innovator of the Year, and the Kiwibank Local Heroes Awards.
