Ngaio Marsh Award for Best Crime Novel
We are thrilled to celebrate Liam McIlvanney as the 2014 winner of the prestigious Ngaio Marsh Award for Best Crime
Novel for his exceptional thriller Where the Dead Men Go.
Judging Convener Craig Sisterson praised Where the Dead Men Go as the ‘kind of book that lingers in your mind beyond the final page’.
Liam said, ‘I am utterly delighted to win this award. These are great times for New Zealand crime writing – the genre is
building a real head of steam, as the quality of the Ngaio Marsh longlist confirms. To win the Ngaio Marsh in such a
