Grayson Gilmour Releases New Video: 'Silence & Youth'
The latest visual offering from Grayson Gilmour comes in the form of his new single, 'Silence & Youth'.
The second video from his critically acclaimed 2014 albumInfinite Life!, 'Silence & Youth' was created by the same team behind the album's first single 'Minus Times Infinity' - a fantasy dragon epic that premiered at the BBC Music Video festival.
Filmmaker and frequent collaborator Jesse Taylor Smith(Pond, Saskwatch, Dear Time's Waste) was tasked with making a music video markably different from their previous work together. The result? A completely computer animated video, taking inspiration from science fiction dramatisations, the video art of Len Lye, Oskar Fischinger and John Whitney amongst others.

Out now, Infinite Life! is Wellington musician Grayson Gilmour's fifth album. Enveloping listeners in sultry layers of vocals, smooth strings and intricate off kilter rhythms, all the while combining warm pop songs with experimental beats, textures and weird loops.
Recorded in underground bank vaults and windy attics in between piecing together film scores, touring overseas with his band So So Modern and attending the Red Bull Music Academy. Infinite Life! is an album filled with both catchy melodies and odd sounds. Self-hypnosis collages & manipulated field recordings, anyone?
Infinite Life! is available on 12" LP and digitally.
“Infinite Life! is a real multiple-play keeper and each listening reveals yet another dimension” – 4 ½ stars, NZ Herald
“Who else writes tunes as achingly beautiful as these? Not many people around here, that’s for sure!” – Nick Bollinger, The Listener
