INXS Kicks in the TV Ratings, Tops the NZ Album Charts
Following the success of INXS: Never Tear Us Apart on TV3, the band’s greatest hits album, INXS: The Very Best has taken the #1 spot in the New Zealand album charts, the first time INXS has had a #1 album here since 1987.
INXS: Never Tear Us Apart, the uncensored two-part biopic of Michael Hutchence and Australia’s most successful rock band, struck a chord with New Zealand audiences when it screened on TV3 on the 14th and 21st of August.
In the key 25-54 demographic, the much anticipated series won its timeslot and was one of the 10 most popular television shows, across all networks.
The series attracted an average total audience of 220,000 New Zealanders (5+), inspiring radio stations around the country to re-discover the INXS back catalogue, and Kiwis to add INXS: The Very Best to their own music collections.
As well as INXS: The Very Best taking the #1 position, classic INXS album Kick: Remastered is also back in the album charts this week at #11.
