The NZ Fashion Weekend Opening Party
Kicking off the biggest weekend in New Zealand fashion, the official NZ Fashion Weekend Opening Party is going to be the hottest ticket in town for fashion and music lovers.
Come down after work to the official NZ Fashion Weekend opening party. Kicks off at 5pm on Friday 29th August at the ANZ Viaduct Events Centre (VEC) and with support from George FM and some of New Zealand’s hottest DJ’s and musical acts on the line up, we can’t think of a better way to end the working week!
Award winning George FM DJ, Aroha Harawira kicks off the evening on the turntables playing just the right blend of cutting edge sounds mixed in with some quirky classics to get the fashion crowd on the dance floor.
Unleashing his unique sound on party goers DJ, beat maker, composer and multi-instrumentalist - the one man musical force that is Beat Mob will share the stage with amazing electronic funk band L.A.B, featuring Brad and Laughton Kora, playing their new generation of sound - psychedelic funk meets electronic rock with a whole lot of soul.
Don’t miss the incredible Daniel Weetman aka DJ Sulu from the The Black Seeds, he will be hot on the decks showcasing his one off DJ set, mixing old and new Black Seeds tunes. With live vocals from Sulu and MC LEIGHTZ on a MPC drum machine. Featuring some exclusive tracks, this will be a performance not to miss. George FM’s resident troublemaker Thane Kirby will guide guests through the evening’s entertainment as the official Master of Ceremonies.
Partygoers will spend the night rubbing shoulders with some of the country's top fashion designers, models, local and international fashion media, the fashion industry and many of the exciting brands behind NZ Fashion Weekend.
And while the party winds up at the ANZ VEC at 11.30, the night doesn’t end there. Party goers can then head down to the exclusive Britomart bar, 1885 and continue the evening in style at the official, un-missable, NZFW after party.
