13th Latin America & Spain Film Festival
The 13th Latin America & Spain Film Festival (LASFF) will be held in the Te Papa Museum in Wellington over the weekends of the 30th and 31st of August and the 6th and 7th of September.
The Festival will feature free screenings of recent films from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Mexico, Peru, Spain, Uruguay and Venezuela.
The twelve films that make up this year’s LASFF provide an opportunity for the community to explore different cultural and contemporary aspects of the participating countries through a wide range of genres, topics and styles.
The LASFF is an annual non-profit cultural event organized by the Embassies of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Cuba, Mexico and Spain in Wellington. It is supported by the Wellington City Council and the Te Papa Museum.
This 13th edition is coordinated by the Embassy of Chile and it will include the special participation of the guest Embassies of Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela in Canberra, Australia.
The Festival will also be held in Auckland, Birkenhead, Christchurch, Dunedin, Hamilton, New Plymouth, Palmerston North, Upper Hutt and Wanganui in association with art centres and academic institutions.
