Family Factor Competition

Has your Whānau got what it takes to be a Family Factor winner?

In the build up to Gamblefree Day 2014 on 1 September, the Health Promotion Agency’s (HPA) Choice Not Chance team is running their “Family Factor” competition for the first time.

The Facebook based photo competition will see 40 winning families taking away a large professionally printed canvas of their family.

“Family is very important when it comes to minimising gambling harm and this is an opportunity to celebrate them and raise awareness of Gamblefree Day 2014,” says HPA Senior Advisor Api Poutasi.

To enter people need to upload their best picture at choicenotchance.org.nz and then get friends and family to “Like” it, The 20 most liked photos will receive a big printed canvas along with 20 spot prizes over the month.

Along with the competition, a number of Gamblefree Day events will be held across the country throughout August and September.

“While Family Factor is a bit of fun, it’s a chance to tell people that help is available,” says Mr Poutasi., “If you’re worried about your own gambling or that of someone you care about the Gambling Helpline is available 24/7 and is free, confidential and non judgemental”
The Gambling Helpline is 0800 654 655.
