The National Country Music Awards in HAMILTON - NEXT Saturday 16 August
Country musicians from all over New Zealand and Australia are heading to the Waikato for next Saturdays National Country Music Awards (NCMA) to be held at Founders Theatre on Saturday 16 August.
The NCMA are like the Oscars are to cinematic achievements. They are the most prestigious event on NZ’s country music calendar and double as an important industry showcase for promoters and international booking agents.
This year Australian singer song-writer Morgan Evans, hot on the heels of a performance at the world’s biggest country music festival and with two #1 Australian singles under his belt, will guest at the awards. Evans has performed with superstar Taylor Swift, is signed with the world’s largest talent agency, William Morris Endeavor Entertainment, and has just released his debut album in NZ via Warner Music.
Also performing on the night are;
GUEST ARTISTS Cameron Scott, Kaylee Bell, Brendan & Pat Dugan, Lesley Nia Nia, Howie Morrison Trio and Kylie Austin is the MC.

THE HORIZON NOMINEES
Sarah Conlan, Cam Luxton and Daniel Cosgrove will be vying for the 2014 Horizon Award, which entitles the winner to a trip to perform at Rocks the Hunter, an appearance at the Global Artists Showcase in Nashville and a Maton guitar – sponsored by MATON GUITARS*.
SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
This year a special DAG SCHOLARSHIP will be offered to one Horizon nominee. This is to attend the 2015 Singer/Songwriters’ Retreat in Nundle, New South Wales at the DAG Sheep Station. The Winter Songwriters’ Retreat will take place during Tamworth's Hat's Off to Country Festival and offers the opportunity to learn and co-write with some of Australian country music's most successful award-winning stars.
