Dan Carter Trade Me Auction Nearing 100K Views
Prompts Other Celebrities to Chip in for Charity
Auckland, New Zealand – 29 July, 2014 – After a standout rugby weekend, Dan Carter’s Trade Meauction is set to break 100,000 views.
In a unique promotion called #iwantaGS5, Dan’s offering his old phone for sale after switching to the new Samsung GS5, with all proceeds going to the For Everyone charity.
“After hearing about the GS5 from Israel Dagg, who’s been on a Samsung for a while now, I made the switch and decided to see if I can raise a little money for charity at the same time,” says Dan.
“It’s great to see that nearly 100,000 Kiwis have had a look at the auction for my old phone and the more bids we get, the more we can give to For Everyone, helping Kiwis with all sorts of projects up and down the country.”
Now with bidding over $2,000, the auction for his old phone is also driving competition that’ll prove hard to beat.
Given his competitive spirit Dan’s also going head to head with comedian and DJ Ben Boyce from Jono and Ben at Ten and The Rock. Ben is also selling his old phone, and both are determined to raise more cash than the other.
“Dan thinks he’s nailed this one. But he’ll be training this week for the final and he’ll be taking his eye off the ball. I’m in,” says Ben. “It’s an auction of two halves and charity will be the winner on the day.”
As he did on the weekend, Dan got the last word in, “it’s all going to a good cause, so everyone’s a winner in the end. But there’s no way I’m losing this one.”
