From Tribeca to Auckland – Ingrid Kopp Will Lead DOC EDGE LAB 2014
Interactive storytelling innovator Ingrid Kopp from Tribeca Film Institute will lead the 4th DOC EDGE LAB for 2014. Held on September 15 and 16 at Auckland University of Technology, the lab is a two-day incubator to educate and inspire digital transmedia storytellers.
Kopp says, ‘I’m very excited to work with Documentary Edge. It has become one of our goals at Tribeca Film Institute to have a much more global approach when it comes to all our digital initiatives and I am looking forward to discovering and nurturing projects from New Zealand.’ Kopp is known for her ‘make the web, don’t just use it’ approach to digital storytelling. Beginning her career in the documentary department at UK’s Channel 4 in 2000, she took the role of director of digital initiatives at Tribeca Film Institutein New York 12 years later. Kopp oversees funding of interactive non-fiction projects through the TFI New Media Fund and curates the Storyscapes section of the Tribeca Film Festival. Kopp pioneered Tribeca Hacks and TFI Interactive, creating a space for storytellers, technologists and designers to collaborate and experiment in the field of interactive digital work.
DOC EDGE LAB 2014 is a series of intensive, inspiring presentations from international non-fiction transmedia experts, covering topics such as what makes a good interactive documentary, how to develop your ideas, new trends in digital interactive storytelling and how to reach a global audience.
The experts will also offer in-depth case studies of groundbreaking work, round-table project discussions and, for selected project teams, one-on-one mentorship and guidance.
