Eco fashion showcase opens with style
New Zealand’s eco fashion week, NZ Eco Fashion Exposed, opened in Lower Hutt last night with an intimate Buyers & Media event, showcasing looks from a selection of NZ and international eco designers.
An intimate runway show was developed to give designers and attendees the opportunity to interact, with small
collections presented as a “taster” of what will be shown on the runway over the following two nights.
Exposed, which has been created to spotlight fashion that has been created using organic, ethical, upcycling and
recycling methods and has drawn entries from designers across New Zealand and around the world.
Additional runway shows will occur tonight, Friday 25 July, and tomorrow, Saturday 26 July, both at the Notre Dame des
Missions Performing Arts Centre, 65 Laings Road, Lower Hutt.
In addition to evening shows, a pop-up shop featuring a selection of the showing designers, plus other fashion and
accessory additions is open through Sunday at 151 High Street Lower Hutt.
Saturday and Sunday will see an addition to the pop-up shop with the Exposed Eco Expo – an expo of eco fashion,
accessories, household items and more.
