Captain Katrina Returns to Haier Pulse for 2015

The Haier Pulse has secured the services of dynamic Silver Ferns defender Katrina Grant who has re-signed for the 2015
ANZ Championship season.
Grant who already has 49 tests caps for New Zealand, will be representing her country at this month’s Commonwealth Games
in Glasgow.
The Haier Pulse captain has played 87 ANZ Championship games over the last seven seasons, the last five representing the
Pulse, having begun her championship career with the Southern Steel.
In that time she has seen her Pulse team move from bottom position to genuine play-off contenders. At the end of the
2014 season the team finished sixth on the ANZ Championship ladder.
“I love Wellington and the Wellington people, I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else, explained Grant. “It’s also great to
have another opportunity to work with Robbie as coach.
“We’ve been so close to making the playoffs these last couple of seasons and I’m looking forward to having another go.”
Haier Pulse and Netball Central Zone CEO, Carolyn Young, believes that re-signing Katrina is key to next season’s
success. “Katrina is one of netball’s leading defenders and brings with her experience and strong leadership,”
acknowledged Young.
“She is a passionate netballer; someone who works hard both on and off the court, and her tenacity under pressure makes
her a huge asset. She will no doubt be driven to build on the last few seasons and will be committed to taking her team
further forward next year.
“With Robyn Broughton confirmed as coach and Katrina as captain, the Haier Pulse has made a good start to recruitment
for 2015.”
