Dynamotion presents
TERROR HIGHWAY
Created by Thomas Sainsbury & Lara Fischel-Chisolm
“What Does The Soul Of A One-Eyed Hillbilly Buy You In Hell?” - DYNAMOTION, New Zealand’s foremost colour-coordinated comedy-dance troupe, will find out in their final instalment of their terror trilogy; Terror Highway, playing The Basement Theatre from August 5th.
They fought sharks in Terror Island, robots in Terror Planet and now the Terror Trilogy concludes on the highway to hell.
In a town so small where the only thing to do is your cousin, three sassy waitresses are wrongly convicted of mass murder. They bust out of jail to clear their name and avenge the death of local heart-throb, Chris. The road to vengeance is lined with broken down chevies, sadistic gator farmers, hell-bound hillbillies and a dance-off with The Devil himself.
In their Terror Trilogy, Dynamotion mix dance and comedy with blood-soaked stories and slick moves. They are led by co-creators Thomas Sainsbury and Lara Fischel-Chisholm.
Sainsbury is well known as a playwright, most recently for Silo’s Sunday Roast, and writer of the television series Super City. Fischel-Chisholm choreographed and directed the sell-out show Swan Song for The Wet Hot Beauties. Her next role is Movement Director for Auckland Theatre Company’s Jesus Christ Superstar. On the company she says, “Dynamotion is part theatre, part dance, and all in-your-face, toe-tapping, dark-comedy joy. There's an infectious kind of silliness that emanates from the 'dactors' (dancing actors) that is matched by precision timing and an all-or-nothing attitude. This is silly, sassy, choreographed fun.”
Making his Dynamotion dacting debut is hot young comic Chris Parker (Girls Vs Boys, SNORT, Tighty Whiteys). Dacting with Chris and Lara are Dynamotion regulars: Kate Simmonds, Karamia Muller, Roberto Nascimento, Perlina Lau, Elizabeth McMenamin, Kermath Davies, Dan Veint & Marion Prebble.
