School holiday fun at Highwic
Bored youngsters will be able to enjoy doing something a little different these school holidays at Highwic, the Heritage New Zealand property in Newmarket.
School-aged children will be able to play games their great-great-great grandparents are likely to have enjoyed, including indoor favourites like Blind Man’s Bluff, musical cushions, blow out the candle and more.
“We’ll also be firing up our coal range and doing some home baking the old way, as well as providing a variety of fun craft activities,” says the Manager of Highwic, Cheryl Laurie.
“Depending on the weather, children will also be able to play some of our Victorian-era games outside including croquet, quoits and stilts.”
School Holiday Fun at Highwic takes place between 10.30am and 4.30pm on July 10 and July 17. Adults $10, children free (maximum four children per adult). Children must be accompanied by an adult. Bookings essential. To book – or for more information – contact Highwic on Ph 09-524-5729 or email highwiceducation@historic.org.nz
