HealthPost seeks charities to benefit from thousands of dollars in monthly donations
New Zealand’s leading online supplement retailer, HealthPost, is seeking expressions of interest from charities who would like to join its list of Charity of the Month recipients.
As part of its “Give Well” programme HealthPost donates $2 for every customer who ticks the Charity of the Month box at its online checkout.
“With many hundreds of orders going
out every day this typically amounts to around $8000 for
each month’s chosen charity,” says HealthPost chairman
Peter Butler. “Customers can also choose to have a $1
donation given to the Red Cross, Fred Hollows Foundation or
the World Wildlife Fund which are permanently listed on our
website, but the revolving Charity of the Month is the most
popular selection.”
HealthPost’s current total monthly donation to charities is about $15,000 and it has given more than $300,000 to charities since 2009.
Registered charities with a national presence can make an application to be cluded in the revolving Charity of the Month list by emailing charity@healthpost.co.nz.
HealthPost’s donations to charity are part of its commitment to the health of the broader community which is fundamental to the company’s business philosophy.
“We believe that the wellness of the individual is always connected to the health of the community and the natural environment. In addition to the donation scheme, we generate most of our own electricity, offset our carbon footprint and have an annual tree planting day. In October this year we are going to help restore the 400 hectare Mangarakua Swamp.”
HealthPost’s core commitment to sustainability and community wellbeing has been accompanied by rapid business growth. The company recently doubled the size of its Collingwood premises to and increased its staff numbers to more than 50.
“We attribute this growth and the customer loyalty that we have attracted to our low prices, huge range and fast delivery.” Being based in Golden Bay is no impediment to delivery times, he says.
“Ninety-nine per cent of orders are dispatched on the day they’re received. Most arrive at the customer’s door, anywhere in New Zealand, the next day.”
