Dj Vadim - Dubcatcher
Reggae lovers unite! Nearly 20 years into his recording career, LOOP is proud to present the highly anticipated full-length album from London-based legend Dj Vadim aka Daddy Vad. A relentless creative spirit and modern reggae don, he plays tribute to a legacy of roots & reggae, adding the 16-track bass-heavy stormer ‘Dubcatcher’ to his inspiring repertoire.
Dubcatcher is bigger than reggae; it represents two decades of refined roots culture, drawn from the fertile ground of his hometown; the multi–cultural cauldron of East Ham, London. It’s also the 11th long player album from this one-man production machine whose musical innovation is infused with a vintage quality presenting real depth of dub, but never shying from dropping hip-hop, bass, soul and skanking bass n’ dubs to add contemporary edge.
Dubcatcher takes a twist from the hip-hop infused breaks and beats we know him for, to delve deep into reggae, dub, and dancehall. This is not the first reggae excursion for Daddy Vad, but it’s the first time the whole skanks from start to finish in true reggae style fashion including inspiring collaborations from the likes of; Dynamite MC, Govenor Tiggy, Katrina Blackstone and the vocals of New Zealand’s own Rio Hemopo on ‘Rise’ and ‘Hope’ [see video below].
