Turn It On! the Edge TV Launches
Tomorrow
The wait is over! New
Zealand’s #1 radio network, The Edge, will launch its
television channel at 4pm on Friday 27 June, on Freeview
channel 11 and SKY channel 114.
The Edge is the #1 radio network in the country, with 454,400 people tuning in each week,* and took home Station of the Year, Broadcaster of the Year, and The Blackie at the recent NZ Radio Awards. On June 27, it will become the first fully integrated radio brand in New Zealand, living on radio, television, web, tablet, mobile and social media – everywhere the audience wants to watch, listen and engage.
The Edge Programme Director, Leon Wratt says the feedback from The Edge listeners and clients has been outstanding since The Edge TV was announced in April, and they won’t be disappointed.
“I’m really proud of what the team has achieved.” He says. “From the playlist, to the specialist shows, to the channel’s look and feel, this is a fresh, exciting new music television channel that takes The Edge brand to a new level.
“Our state-of-the-art studios are up and running, generating great video content that will start rolling out on the channel tomorrow. They’ll be just part of The Edge’s trademark blend of the hottest music, and specialist music and pop culture shows, all broadcast free-to-air and available online and on your favourite devices.”
The Edge TV is the first local music channel available to watch LIVE on mobile phones, tablets and online at theedge.co.nz.
“Tomorrow’s launch is a big step forward for New Zealand radio, for both listeners and clients, and we’ll be unveiling plenty more in the months to come. It’s exciting for The Edge to be leading the way in this space.”
