Bastille to Headline Rhythm And Vines
We are very excited to announce their our headliners for 2014
BASTILLE!
London-based BASTILLE have had a meteoric rise to fame since their March 2013 debut album Bad Bloodentered the number one spot in the UK charts and achieved platinum status. It started in 2011 when they pressed only 300 copies of their debut single ‘Flaws’ and shortly afterwards the accompanying video scored half a million hits on You Tube. They were quickly signed by Virgin Records, and after only three singles they were selling-out their first headline UK tour before their album was even released.
Their anthemic fourth single ‘Pompeii’ charted at number two in the UK charts and went on to become the second most streamed track of 2013, just behind Daft Punk’s ‘Get Lucky’, and so far holds the record as the song to spend the most number of weeks at number one on the Official Streaming Chart. Their triumphant 2013 ended with another number two UK hit single, ‘Of The Night.’
Their phenomenal success has continued into 2014 and has seen them nominated for four BRIT Awards (British Breakthrough Act, British Group, British Album, Best Single for ‘Pompeii’). The band have recently been touring America and playing festivals such as Coachella and The Governors Ball in New York before touring Australia.
Their appearances at Rhythm and Vines and Rhythm and Alps will be their first ever NZ shows.
Lead singer of BASTILLE, Dan Smith says “We are massively excited about heading to New Zealand for the first time in our lives and that we get to come to do such fun festivals. We’re really happy to be one of the headliners. We’re really excited.”
