World’s first NZ music Playable Poster for charity auction
Beck’s put world’s first NZ music Playable Poster up for charity auction
As part of their involvement in New Zealand Music Month 2014, Beck’s has placed one of their innovative NZ music playable posters up for auction on Trade Me, with the proceeds going to The New Zealand Music Foundation to further their work in the music community.
The Playable Posters use conductive ink linked to sensors and in-built speakers and have been placed at high profile sites for the duration of NZ Music Month. Once touched, tracks start to play and the technology allows the user to customise the experience and remix the song, adding various audio elements. Songs featured on the poster come from a range of NZ artists including The Phoenix Foundation, Lawrence Arabia, Doprah, Little Bark, Two Wolves, Super Villains (RMC), Janine and the Mixtape, Ash Graham, ghost wave, and Third3ye.
The auction will close on Wednesday the 28th of May and can be found by searching on the Trade Me website for “Playable Poster”. The link for the item is http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=732174026&ed=true
The Phoenix Foundation have added their signatures to the Playable Poster and have also supplied a signed copy of their CD “Tom’s Lunch” for the winner of the auction. The band say it’s a worthy cause: “We’re really pleased to be a part of the auction of the Beck’s Playable Poster. It’s a unique opportunity for someone, and the fact that the proceeds will go to The New Zealand Music Foundation is something we’re very keen to support. They do vital work with music projects that change people’s lives for the better and they are very involved in the music community in ways that make a real difference. We hope that NZ music lovers all over the country can dig deep and make the auction a success.”
The New Zealand Music Foundation supports music-based projects in healthcare, education, rehabilitation, volunteering and many other areas in communities all over NZ, transforming lives and bringing joy through music to those in need. It also provides vital support at times of hardship to members of the NZ music community.
The Chair of the Foundation, Campbell Smith, says that support like this is essential to the Foundation’s work .“We’re very grateful to Beck’s for auctioning the Playable Poster for us. The proceeds will allow us to provide crucial support to members of the NZ music community who are experiencing distress, hardship and illness. It’s a great NZ music auction item and I’m excited to see the final result.”
