AIA Marae DIY Has a New Home on TV3
TV3 is proud to confirm it will become the new home of the award-winning makeover series AIA Marae DIY.
The show, which is produced by Screentime and has been running for over a decade, joins whānau, iwi and hapū in the ambitious task of renovating their Marae in only four days.
With the help of the AIA Marae DIY team: expert builder, Harry Anneff; landscape specialist, David Clayton-Greene; series presenters, Te Ori Paki and Ria Hall; plus a dedicated television crew, the series takes viewers on a renovation journey which is underpinned by family and community history - all tied together with a unique blend of Māori ingenuity and humour.
TV3’s Director of Programming, Mark Caulton comments: “We’re delighted to have AIA Marae DIY as part of our 2015 programming schedule. The series has long been a favourite with Kiwi audiences and we’re very much looking forward to bringing new stories to our viewers.”
AIA Marae DIY is funded through Te Māngai Pāho with continued sponsorship support from AIA.
John Bishara, Chief Executive of Te Māngai Pāho says: “Te Māngai Pāho is delighted that a whole new audience will have the opportunity to enjoy this iconic Māori programme and congratulates both TV3 and AIA on this initiative.”
Wayne Besant, CEO of AIA comments: "We are delighted that our long association with AIA Marae DIY will continue. Working on the programme has become for us a cherished opportunity to connect with Iwi and local communities all over New Zealand. All of us at AIA New Zealand are looking forward to the next series."
