All Maori designers encouraged to enter Miromoda Competition

Miromoda Fashion Design Competition 2014 Invites And Encourages All Designers Who Identify as Maori to Enter.
Entries for the Miromoda Fashion Design Competition are now open. This annual event will see the Winners & Runners up of each category showcase at NZ Fashion Week 2014 in Auckland, 26-29 August, 2014.
The event will be culmination of a rigorous search and competition to find the best Maori fashion designers New Zealand has to offer. http://www.miromoda.com/competition/
Entries close: Friday 30 May 2014 - This is the cut off date for all collection concept and images/photographs to be completed. They can be sent in by mail, fax or email but must be in by 5pm.
2014 Miromoda Entry Form: This includes entry dates and fees, entry sections and prizes, conditions of entry and judging criteria. For more information please see Entry Form attached.
Entry Fee: A non refundable entry fee of $100.00 (NZD) received by 20 June 2014.
Garments Due: All garments should be completed by or before 18 June, and brought with entrants to Wellington on or before Thursday 19 June for judging on Friday 20 June for the Miromoda Fashion Design Competition.
CATEGORIES FOR THE 2014 MIROMODA FASHION DESIGN COMPETITION ARE;
ESTABLISHED
A category for designers who identify as Maori working for established designers or with their own established label.
EMERGING
Entries are open to emerging designers who identify as Maori. Designers from tertiary students who are challenged to look beyond conforming to trends and business restraints in order to advance the ‘art’ form. Design and concept of the collection is the primary consideration in this award.
AVANT GUARDE
Entries are open to designers who identify as Maori from tertiary and profession designers who are able to showcase their abilities in Avant Guarde design.
TEE SHIRT PLACEMENT
Entries are open to Secondary, Tertiary and Freelance designers/artists who identify as M?ori. Desingers wishing to employ ta mok, taniko or kowhaiwhai paters or imagery in their designs must consult with regards to sensitivity, appropriateness and correct usage.
