This Mother's Day Give The Gift of Music
This Mother's Day Give The Gift of Music
Chances are
when you were but a glint in your mother's eye, there were
songs playing on the radio and albums she loved that still
remind her of that time.
She may have sung Dinah Lee to you to get you off to sleep, blasted Split Enz on the radio on long road trips, danced with her friends to When The Cats Away or was chilling in a feild with thosands of others asPitch Black performed while you and the other kids played elsewhere.
Why not try and find some of those lost classics for her this Mother's Day? Pop into your local JB Hi-Fi, the Warehouse or Dub Dot Dash has a handy list of all the independent music stores in NZ - have a root around in the record bins and unearth some of those happy memories.
Or you can create new memories together by introducing her to something brand new, or taking her along to see some live music...
There are some proud mum's celebrating their own and their children's musical successes today after last nights Pacific Music Awards including David Dallas's mother (pictured: photo via @yohos on twitter) who accepted the NZ Music Commission Best Pacific Male Artist award as David was in Europe, where he's touring with Six60.
Some mums around the country will also be feeling proud tonight as Glass Owls, Black City Lights, French For Rabbits and Ezra Vine perform at the NZ Music Showcase hosted by Outward Sound in Brighton, UK.
