Pink Ribbon Breakfast is Just Right for charity
Kellogg’s Just Right is pleased to announce it is the principal sponsor of the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation (NZBCF) Pink Ribbon Breakfast campaign.
The event encourages women around New Zealand to host their own fundraising breakfast at home, work or school throughout the month of May.
Proceeds from the campaign go towards breast cancer research and the NZBCF hopes New Zealanders will host more than 2,000 breakfasts. That’s a big jump on the 1,800 held last year that raised $750,000 with the help of the 55,000 New Zealanders taking part.
2014 marks the second year of the sponsorship for Kellogg’s, which supported the campaign last year with its Special K brand.
Kellogg's brand manager Abbie Malakai says it is a privilege to be working with the NZBCF team again on the event.
"We are so pleased to be able to help promote this wonderful fundraising event to our consumers and encourage them to have a ‘Just Right’ breakfast while getting behind a great cause,” Malakai says.
NZBCF Chief Executive Evangelia Henderson says Kellogg’s support for the Pink Ribbon Breakfast Campaign is helping the foundation get the word out around New Zealand, especially through the inclusion of the Pink Ribbon and information on the event on Just Right packs.
“We are hoping Kiwis will get behind the Pink Ribbon Breakfasts in a big way - it is an important campaign for us and we truly value the backing from Kellogg’s to help make it happen,” Henderson says.
It is free to register a breakfast event and consumers keen to be involved need to head to www.pinkribbonbreakfast.co.nz/register to get a host kit. Each contains a range of merchandise including a voucher to purchase Just Right cereal for a breakfast event.
To coincide with the sponsorship, Kellogg’s is also introducing a new product in the Just Right range - Sultanas, Currants, Apple & Almonds. The newcomer is Low GI, a great source of fibre and 54 per cent wholegrain.
Money raised from this year’s Pink Ribbon Breakfasts funds research projects to help improve the survivorship of breast cancer in New Zealand.
