Culinary festival launches A Role to Dine For
With an experience valued at over NZ$10,000 up for grabs, Visa Wellington On a Plate (VWOAP) is launching a trans-Tasman search to find the ultimate foodie to help spread the word about New Zealand’s largest and tastiest culinary festival.
Over the past four years, VWOAP has partnered with a local writer on a daily blog. In 2013, the festival searched the nation to find a lover of all things patty who ate 17 burgers in 17 days, and blogged about their ultimate burger bucket list.
“This year, we’re stepping it up a notch and today have launched A Role to Dine For. A trans-Tasman search to find 2014’s most passionate foodie who’ll join us for the 17 days of the festival enjoying the most memorable foodie experience of a lifetime,” says Festival Director, Sarah Meikle.
The total prize is valued at over NZ$10,000 and includes:
• Return flights to Wellington.
• 17 nights’ accommodation in a brand new Club InterContinental Guest Room at the 5-star InterContinental Wellington, with full access to the hotel’s club lounge, pool, spa, sauna and gym.
• Complimentary breakfast at the hotel, internet and dry-cleaning each day.
• 17 days of VWOAP experiences.
“The winner will be living large for 17 days at the newly refurbished InterContinental Hotel experiencing festival menus, events, burgers and beverages daily, all while blogging about their journey. The best part is you get to bring a buddy along with you.
“Absolutely anyone can enter, just visit VisaWellingtonOnaPlate.com/RoletoDineFor and tell us a bit about yourself and your tastiest culinary experience through words, imagery or video,” says Ms Meikle.
Entries close Sunday 25 May.
The culinary festival will serve its sixth course from 15-31 August. The ingredients for this year’s programme have been compiled, with 98 eateries signed up to DINE Wellington, 69 Garage Project presents Burger Wellington entries and 119 Festival Events on the menu
