The Maori language commission Te Taura Whiri i te reo Maori is concerned some of the reo used for radio and television news bulletins is too hard or too flowery for many in the audience. It wants broadcasters to keep it simple. In Kia Korero Mai this Sunday, Radio Waatea and Te Karere presenter Scotty Morrison gives his views on how te reo is developing, and shares some of the strategies he and his wife Stacey use at home to keep their children using the language.

Korero Mai Ki Ahau a half hour features programme every Saturday and Sunday from noon, which takes an in – depth look at issues affecting te ao Maori. Totally in te reo Maori brought to you by Waatea News in association with Te Mangai Paho.
