My Accomplice presents A Show About Superheroes
My Accomplice, winners of the Best Theatre at the 2013 Dunedin Fringe Awards bring back a case of the funnies in their
latest comedy spectacle, A Show About Superheroes. From Tuesday 13 - Saturday 17 May, the super stars of the Wellington
theatre scene will take to the BATS stage to show off their super funny powers in a story of the ups and downs of being
a superhero.
Will Captain Ashley Smash with her unbelievable powers of super strength, Cyborg Rob Bot with the powers of… Cyborg, and
The Yellow Fury with his supreme martial arts skills be able to defeat Dr. Murder Bailey - an evil super genius who’s
determined to crack open the earth? Or will these super heroes end up super dead?
A Show About Superheroes is a spin off from the beloved My Accomplice trilogy of A Play About Love, A Play About Space
and A Play About Fear, brought to you especially for the Comedy Festival. This time the accomplices are back to create a
superhero story to rival The Avengers but with no theatrics to hide behind. There will be epic slow motion battles, evil
villains, explosions, punchy one-liners and maybe even a dance number…
The theatre collective My Accomplice was formed in late 2009 by Hannah Banks, Uther Dean and Paul Waggott upon
completion of their BAs at Victoria University. The three have been involved in numerous shows and have worked with some
of Wellington's most exciting young theatre makers. They’re also really funny.
