Chocolate and coffee extravaganza set for Auckland
Foodies are getting ready for the arrival of the first-ever show combining chocolate and coffee.
Over two days, visitors to The Chocolate and Coffee Show will be able to indulge in everything from hand-crafted truffles to decadent hot chocolates, old-fashioned brownies and cappuccino lollipops.
The event is taking place on May 3 and 4 at The Cloud on Auckland’s waterfront and show organiser, Keith Sharp, says Kiwis are ready for it.
“With New Zealand’s large number of boutique chocolatiers and an upsurge in the consumption of chocolate, we felt that the time was right to launch the show,” says Keith. “Kiwis also have a keen interest in coffee so the two together is the perfect fit.”
Around 60 exhibitors, including confectioners and other artisan producers, are exhibiting at the show. Visitors will also get the chance to pick up tips from the experts with live demonstrations from chocolatiers and baristas.
“New Zealand chocolatiers and baristas are highly skilled, creative and very innovative. We hope to introduce people to new flavours, techniques and companies as we have a wealth of talent here,” says Keith.
With Mother’s Day just around the corner, Keith says the show will also be the perfect place to find a sweet gift.
“Chocolate and coffee are an indulgence and a great way to treat mum. Our exhibitors will have a great selection of gift ideas to choose from,” says Keith.
